The WorkPro Quantum 9000 Series is a mid-back ergonomic office chair that bears an uncanny resemblance to the more famous Herman Miller Aeron chair.
And it’s not just the similarity. Like the Aeron, the Work Pro quantum 9000 mid-back chair is one of the best ergonomic office chairs in the market.
It’s one of the few chairs that are built to provide maximum comfort and support to office workers especially during those long work stretches that extend up to 10 or more hours.
The best part?
The Quantum Pro 9000 chair is almost 3 times cheaper than the famed Aeron chair. This is a big deal as most people on a budget are always looking for cheaper alternatives to Herman Miller Aeron so they won’t have to spend almost 1000 bucks.

WorkPro Quantum Mid-Back Chair Review
1. Ergonomics
The WorkPro Quantum 9000 is a mid-back mesh chair. Mid-back means that the backrest is slightly lower than your shoulders.
The purpose of this backrest style with built-in lumbar support is to provide the much-needed support to your mid and lower back, as well as the spine. It ensures proper spine alignment by conforming to the shape of your back, which helps minimize stress on your back.
This simply means you can sit on this chair for hours and not suffer from excessive fatigue and lower back pain.
Backrest Adjustments
One of the best features of the Work Pro 9000 series office chair is the height-adjustable backrest.
Although it doesn’t come with adjustable lumbar support (has built-in lumbar support), the Quantum 9000 makes up for this with its fully adjustable backrest.
You can pull the backrest high to accommodate your tall frame or at the lowest setting if you’re shorter.
After you find your ideal backrest high, the backrest should click in place.
You should hear the clicks as you adjust upwards or onwards.
When adjusting though, make sure you’re not pulling it all the way up as it will fall to the lowest setting quickly. Instead, pull it slowly and you’ll hear or feel the clicks.
I’ve seen some people complaining about having a hard time figuring out how to get it back into the original position. Well, it’s easy. Simply lift it all the way to the top. It will immediately drop back to the bottom. From here, you can readjust it to your suitable height.
I also can’t forget to mention that the backrest has a breathable back mesh that keeps you cool and comfortable even when it gets extremely hot.
Robust Tilt Mechanism
The WorkPro Quantum 9000 mid-back chair has a synchro-tilt mechanism that allows the chair to tilt backward and rocked. By default, it tilts up to 30 degrees which is a good angle to lean back and ease your back during short work breaks.
The tilt mechanism features one switch and a tension control knob. Each switch locks or releases a different tilt adjustment.
For example, the left switch adjusts the angle of the backrest and when released, the backrest rocks back and forth from a tilt angle of 90 degrees to 130 degrees.
Use the tension knob located at the bottom right twists to adjust the tension of the backrest hinge.
It basically allows you to set the tension for the tilt and thanks to the tilt lock, you can lock it into your preferred recline position.
You don’t have to worry about not getting enough tension to hold you in a reclined position.
If you suffer from lower back pain, the Quantum 9000 will ease your pain when working on the desk for hours.
Seat Height Adjustment
Everything about this executive chair is adjustable, including the seat height. The height can be easily and quickly adjusted with the small lever below.
At its lowest height, the seat is about 17” inches off the floor and 21 inches on the highest setting. That’s about 4” inches of travel, which is a good range for short and tall people.
Seat Depth Adjustable
Unlike the Aeron chair whose seat depth is fixed, the WorkPro Quantum 9000 series has an adjustable seat depth.
There is a switch that lets you adjust the seat depth back and forth. When extended, the chair cushion can accommodate anyone who requires a little more space for their backside.
A lot of people appreciate the adjustable depth as it provides excellent flexibility while enhancing comfort for people of different sizes.
Adjustable 3D Armrests with Pivot
The Quantum 9000 chair features armrests that adjust not only up and down, but also swivel. They also have this unique and comfortable gel padding that does a great job alleviating shoulder strain.
The only complaint I’ve seen about the armrests is that they keep swiveling instead of locking in place, which is a little bit annoying. But other than that, the adjustable and comfortable armrests offer you a comfortable place to rest your elbows for reduced shoulder strain.
Comfortable Mesh Seat
Unlike most office chairs which have cushioned seats, the Quantum 9000 is a little bit different. The chair instead has a mesh seat and cushioning good cushioning all around to keep your thighs comfortable.
I’ve seen a lot of buyers praise its superior comfort – some even say it offers the same level of comfort as the Aeron chair. Some users have also said that it’s much more comfortable compared to other mesh chairs within the same price range.
The mesh seat is surprisingly comfortable and perhaps the biggest advantage is that the mesh is highly breathable.
Thus, you’ll never have to worry about getting all sweaty on your backside after sitting for extended periods.
Another feature you’ll love about this mesh chair is the waterfall seat edge. Some office chairs have a square-shaped seat and this is actually not right.
You see, the frame at the edge will dig into your thighs and thus end up cutting circulation to your legs. [1]
The result is fatigue and possible numbness. Things can get worse if you have really big thighs or are on the heavier side.
With WorkPro’s waterfall seat edge, the cushion curves down before the frame and has foam padding on the edge. This means your thighs will be sitting on soft padding so there won’t be any sort of discomfort. This is definitely a huge plus.
2. Build Quality
It’s a well-known fact that the Aeron chair is not only ergonomically designed, but it’s also extremely sturdy and durable. The question is, can the WorkPro Quantum 9000 series office chair compete with the Aeron in terms of quality and durability?
Well, the Quantum 9000 is extremely durable. Many years later, some owners say the mesh chair is still holding up pretty well. There is no argument here.
The entire frame is constructed with a high-quality hardened black nylon material. This includes the 5-point star base. The sturdy nylon frame offers superior strength and stability so you’ll never have to worry about getting a replacement after only a few months of use.
The mesh on the backrest and seat is quite hard and firmly installed. I haven’t seen anyone complaining about it wearing out or having holes yet.
So basically, it would be right to say that the 9000 series is pretty much as strong and durable as the mighty Aeron.
For the money, I would say this is a pretty good deal and a great value for your hard-earned money.

3. Maximum Weight and Height Recommendation
One of the most important things to consider when looking to purchase an office chair is whether it can accommodate your height and weight.
Office chairs come in different sizes so it’s upon you to find a chair with the right dimensions and weight capacity for your frame.
Its overall dimensions are 37 1/2in. to 43 3/4in.H x 29 1/2in.W x 28in.D with a maximum weight capacity of 250lbs.
Although the adjustable backrest goes high enough to accommodate the average person, it may not fully suit taller individuals. It only adjusts 2 ¼ inches to the highest settings which is clearly not enough.
Also, with a weight capacity of 250 pounds, the 9000 mesh chair is clearly not suitable for those on the heavier side.
So basically, despite its sturdy built and height adjustment, the WorkPro 9000 ergonomic chair is not the best office chair for big and tall people.
The materials used to construct the chair are recycled which is good if you’re eco-conscious. It’s also GreenGuard Certified for low chemical emissions.
4. Ease of Assembly
Most owners have said that the chair is extremely easy to assemble and actually took less than 5 minutes to assemble.
It mainly comes with pre-assembled parts plus the assembly is pretty straightforward. You don’t need to pay anyone to put it together for you.
5. Price
Honestly speaking, the WorkPro Quantum 9000 series ergonomic mesh office chair does not come cheap. It may cost almost 3 times less than the Herman Miller Aeron office chair but still, it’s not a good choice if you’re looking for a budget office chair.
However, given that it’s one of the best ergonomic office chairs that are comparable to the Herman Miller chair, its price is totally reasonable.
Like I stated earlier, this is one of the cheapest alternatives to the costly Aeron ergonomic office chair.
6. Warranty
For your peace of mind, the mesh chair is backed by a 10-Year Warranty from the manufacturer

Conclusion – WorkPro Quantum 9000 Review
Is The WorkPro Quantum 9000 Series Worth Purchasing?
Clearly, the 9000 series mesh office chair is worth purchasing for your home office. A chair that compares to the Herman Miller chair is no joke. If you’re a fan of the Herman Miller Aeron, this is the chair for you. We have seen that it has some of the best ergonomics, sturdily built, not to mention excellent breathability.
The comfort, support, and adjustability level is on another level, making it an excellent choice for your health as well. Though it’s not the best option for big and tall people due to the size and weight capacity limitations, the task chair is definitely a purchase worth considering and worth every penny!
